Insurance
DAN – Dive Accident Insurance.
DAN Annual Travel Insurance – Plans for U.S. residents that cover illness, trip cancellations, baggage delays, and Covid.
❗Warning: DAN’s annual travel insurance policies in most states are intended for multiple short trips and have a 90-day trip max. If you will be overseas for more than 90 continuous days, consider continuous coverage plans at Generali. Always check the definition of a “trip” in the policy terms & conditions.
Health
LifeStraw – Use LifeStraw’s Peak series personal water filter to safely drink water everywhere and reduce plastic bottle pollution.
Travelan Anti-Diarrhea Travel Tablets – Taking Travelan tablets (bovine colostrum) provides additional digestive support in situations where sanitation is poor, or the quality of the food and drink is questionable.
Enterogermina (also branded as Erceflora in certain markets) – Bacillus clausii probiotic for the treatment of diarrhea. Evidence supports the use of bacillus clausii for diarrhea treatment in kids and adults. I took Erceflora in the Philippines while stricken by traveler’s diarrhea and it greatly reduced the severity of my symptoms.
MQ Motion Sickness Patches – These OTC patches are a liveaboard (and day boat) trip saver for mild to moderately rough sea conditions. They’re 100% herbal and don’t give me any side effects. For really rough sea conditions, I use prescription scopolamine.
Emetrol Nausea Medication – This OTC nausea medication available in syrup and chewables has been another liveaboard trip saver. It has kept me from feeding the fish in very rough conditions on a 5-day liveaboard in the Bahamas. I’m shocked at how quickly and effectively this worked after the first dose.
K Health – Consult with a doctor via chat within minutes on this cheap U.S. telehealth app. I’ve done last-minute chat consultations to get prescriptions for anti-malaria tablets, scopolamine, and an oral typhoid vaccine.
Vibes High Fidelity Ear Plugs – Protect your hearing but still have a conversation without muffling sound clarity. Great for wearing around noisy dive boat or ferry engines, dive boat compressors, or at destinations where the traffic is loud (scooters, motorcyles, and buses).
Tech
NordVPN – NordVPN gives safe access to streams and other content from around the world. By shielding your IP addresses, NordVPN protects your privacy and virtual location.

NordPass – NordPass lets you safely store, use, and share passkeys, so you can access accounts via biometrics. Have full control over your online life thanks to the security dashboard.

KEFEYA Portable Laptop Monitor – Whether you’re working remotely or editing your latest dive videos, get more stuff done with a portable monitor.
Fiverr – Use local freelancers on Fiverr to help you plan your trip and learn the local languages.
Cheap Flights
Momondo – Momondo is hands-down the best search engine to find the cheapest flights.
Pomelo Travel – Pomelo Travel sends you cheap flight alerts to your inbox. Pick your departure airport and Pomelo will send you incredible deals, including ridiculously cheap “mistake fares” to a variety of destinations. Best for last-minute travelers.
